Bricks & Smiles will be taking part in City2Surf 2026 as a team fundraiser. We would love you, friends, family, colleagues etc to join us!
Why We’re Participating
Bricks & Smiles provides Dream LEGO Grants for children undergoing oncology treatment. A serious diagnosis turns a child’s world upside down. Through our grants, we give kids the chance to choose LEGO sets that spark creativity, distraction and joy during long hospital stays and challenging treatment periods.
While we focus on bringing moments of light to families, we are also committed to raising awareness of the urgent need for more research into finding a cure for sarcoma. Sarcoma is a rare and aggressive cancer that disproportionately affects children and young people, and outcomes have not significantly improved in decades. Increased funding and awareness are critical to changing that.
By participating in City2Surf, we aim to:
Raise funds to deliver more Dream LEGO Grants
Raise awareness about sarcoma and the need for more research
Bring together a community of supporters who want to make a practical difference
And in doing all this, take some time out to remember Zac and his zest for life.
Anyone Can Take Part
City2Surf is open to everyone. You can run, jog or walk the iconic 14km course at your own pace. There’s no requirement to be competitive, and there is no minimum fundraising target to join our team.
Move at a pace that suits you
Raise as much or as little as you can - the online fundraising platform makes it easy to share on social media or email
Be part of a team supporting children and families facing cancer
Every dollar raised helps us deliver more grants and continue advocating for better research outcomes. All donations made are tax deductible too.
How to Join Team Bricks & Smiles
Register to fundraise City2Surf 2026 (if you have never fundraised with Grassrootz before you will need to set up an account).
Select Bricks & Smiles as your chosen charity.
Follow the prompts to set up your fundraising page (for the prompt ‘are you fundraising in a team’ select ‘yes’ and ‘join an existing team’. Bricks & Smiles should be on the drop down menu
Don’t forget to register for the City2Surf when entries open - it’s a seperate process.
